ASN Annual MeetingU.S. Soft Power & Social Equality The 8th annual ASN conference focused on the relationship between social equality and soft power. It was co-sponsored by the US-China Education Trust and Northeast Normal University. Summer InstituteIn 2010 and 2011, USCET organized the State Department-sponsored Study of the U.S. Institute on U.S. Foreign Policy for twenty student leaders from China, Japan, and Korea. Students met with Washington insiders and policy makers, including former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao and Senator Daniel Inouye (pictured). Media ProgramsUSCET sponsors many media-related activities through the MEC including the Financial Media Institute, the Journalist in Residence (JIR) program, Hands-on Workshops, the Media Fellows program, and the Annual MEC Conference. Award LuncheonOn September 22, 2010, USCET honored Senator Dianne Feinstein with the Congressional Visionary Award for her courage, foresight, and pioneering leadership in advancing US-China relations, first as mayor of San Francisco, where she established a sister city relationship with Shanghai, and then as a US Senator.
F.Y. Chang LectureThe F.Y. Chang Lecture, a joint program of Peking University Law School, Tsinghua University Law School and the Harvard University Law School East Asian Legal Studies Program, brings together legal scholars from Greater China and the US to carry on F.Y. Chang's legacy of sharing knowledge and advancing respect for the rule of law.
